October Meeting

Hi Photographers!
🙂

It’s that time of month again ~ GRPP meeting this Wednesday the 14th, 7pm, BookSmart Studio.
Here’s the scoop:

Back by popular demand… the round table meeting format! February’s meeting on pricing for profit was a HUGE success, so we will hold that style meeting again.Business and Ethics:
* Contracts
* Business forms
* Etiquette with vendors
* Copyright laws
* Publishing and model releasesThis will be a true give and take, so bring questions to pose to the group!

If you need feedback on your forms, etc. feel free to bring those too.

Networking and print critique is from 6-7, meeting begins at 7. You can meet up with people before or after at Good Luck and have a drink. Some people bring food/drink for the networking at 6 as well.

Print critique requires up to 3 8×10 images, professionally printed. A great idea is to bring the 3 images you are thinking about using on the GRPP website! Get feedback!

Also, if you haven’t submitted your images for the website, PLEASE do so asap.  Here is the criteria once again:

For members: We have 2 requests for images.
1. Please submit 3 images from your portfolio that you feel best represents your photographic services.  We, the board, will be choosing the one image from your 3 that we think is the best and this will be your advertisement directing customers to your website.
Each image must be: 925 px x 615 px at 72 dpi
Each image must be: horizontal (OR 3 verticals within that exact horizontal dimension)
Each image must not contain any logos on top…JUST the image.
NO KEYLINES around the images

2. There is currently a slide show going across the top of the website; a banner.  We would like you to choose your very best and favorite image which does NOT have to represent you; your name will not be associated with it … we just want to have really really nice images showing at the top to represent our professionalism as a whole.  If you’re mostly a Wedding photographer, but have beautiful landscape photos that you shoot on the side and have one you really love, submit that one.
Whatever image you decide, it needs to be:  735 px x 236 px at 72 dpi
It also needs to be horizontal, BUT again, it can contain 3 verticals within that horizontal frame.
NO KEYLINES around the images

ALL IMAGES NEED TO BE SENT TO OUR WEBMASTER, SCOTT CRIST AT:
scott@scottcrist.com (Thank You Scott!!!)

This meeting will be a very important one, so don’t miss it! We will have the information for voting online for next year’s officers as well as other housekeeping info in regards to the new website!  (www.grpp.org)

Let us know what you think!

Announcement: GRPP elections 2010

In lieu of sending out paper ballots, this year we will be collecting your votes online. You have until 10/13/09 to cast your vote for next year’s officers. New officers will be announced at our next meeting on October 14th. In case of a tie, final decision will be made by the current board members.
