John began his TV sports career in 1987 and worked as a sports anchor for 29 years before completely switching gears to pursue a digital media career. John has remained at WROC-TV on a part-time basis, anchoring the daily 4pm news broadcast. Since switching to his digital role, John had a number of videos/stills go viral including the “Ice House” in 2017, and most recently the raging Montour Falls in August, where a Facebook Live broadcast of John’s reached 14 million viewers. John resides in Penfield with his wife and daughter Caroline. His older daughter, Natalie, is a television reporter in Watertown, NY.
He loves captivating the beauty in his travels. John works with an array of digital content from traditional still images to breathtaking video. He’s a longtime TV guy who loves shooting with the camera.
John will be talking about his role in television and the change that came about in 2016 that altered the course of his life to one of photographer/videographer embracing a passion he didn’t even know existed.
