GRPP Photographers Win Photo Competition Awards

Six members of the Greater Rochester Professional Photographers entered the Image Competition during the Photo Northeast Convention that was held February 7-9, 2015 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.  All six members won awards during the competition, which was judged by PPA-certified judges.

The following photographers won blue ribbon merits for an image by scoring at least 80 points during judging:

Chris Kogut

“Vernazza by the Sea” (82 pts.)
“Sunset Ride on U Bein Bridge” (81 pts.)

Bruce Landis
“Future Farmer” (81 pts.)
“Blue Eyed Mikko” (80 pts.)

Patrick Luke
“Lap Time” (85 pts.)
“Hoop Dreams” (83 pts.)

Deb Woodard
“Thru the Pouring Rain” (81 pts.)

In addition, Chris Kogut and Pat Luke each won a “320 Case Award”, because the four images in their image set exceeded a score of 320 pts. (an average of at least 80 pts. per image)

The images cannot be shown here yet, as they will be entered into the International Print Competition through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in June, and cannot be publicly displayed until after that competition.

During this image competition at Photo Northeast, photographers are allowed to enter up to four images,which are judged on a 0-100 scale according to twelve elements, including:

  • Center of Interest
  • Lighting
