January 2013 Meeting – Portrait Lighting and Competition Printing

Happy New Year! We hope you will join us for our meeting on January 9, 2013 for a presentation by two of our own GRPP members, Pat Luke, Cr. Photog, of Luke Photography and Deb Woodard, M. Photog. Cr.  of Marwood Studio.

Pat will will be conducting a lighting demonstration, showing everything from
simple one-light setups that can be used to mimic natural, repeatable daylight
conditions, to two, three, and four light setups that will add drama and impact
to your images and set them apart from those photographers that can’t….
or won’t….use lighting to their advantage…and chances are very good that he
will discuss a few of his McGyver gadgets.

If you’ve ever thought about entering print competition, or just want to “Wow”
your customers, beautiful lighting is the easiest way to create impact and set
your images apart from everyone else’s.

Deb will will explain how preparing a print for competition differs
from preparing prints for your clients.  If you’ve ever thought about
entering the regional print competition, which will be held at the
Photo Northeast Convention this year, this will be a good kick start
for you, as she explains some of the “ins” and “outs” of print competition.
