Because of the prevalence of video capabilities in digital SLRs and the low price of digital video cameras, many photographers are incorporating video footage into their bag of tricks when photographing weddings and portraits.
This month’s featured speaker is Dave Duprey from Duprey Video Productions (http://dupreyvideo.com/)
Dave is a veteran videographer with over 20 years of experience, and will speak to us about tips and techniques that will help us shoot video intelligently and also… tips on the editing process. I have it on good authority from his daughter, GRPP member Lori Coleman, that Dave is quite talented and has plenty of great tips to share with us. 🙂 They have also been working together on several photo/video fusion sessions, which you might find plenty interesting.
Those of us that have photographed weddings long enough all have horror stories of working with bad videographers. Well, wouldn’t you know it, videographers have as many (or more) stories to share about bad photographers. Dave will share some of his stories (hopefully you are not mentioned in any of them) and maybe we can pick up a few tips on how not to be “that photographer”.
Date: Wednesday, June 8, 2011
Location: Booksmart Studio, 250 N. Goodman Street, Rochester, NY (near Village Gate and Memorial Art Gallery)
The social hour and print critique will begin at 6:00. The GRPP business portion of the meeting will begin at approximately 6:40pm, and Dave’s program will begin promptly at 7:00pm.
We’ll order pizza again as we’ve done the last couple of meetings (donations are gladly accepted), but make sure you save at least $5 for the 50/50 raffle. All it takes is $5 and a dream.
