April’s Greater Rochester Professional Photographers (GRPP) meeting

Color Management for Professional Photographers

When other photographers start talking to you about color profiles, gamut, color space, or LUTs, do your eyes glaze over?  Really?  I thought it was just me.

Do you say to yourself: “My lab does all my color correction.  I don’t have to know anything about color management”?

By the end of our next meeting, you’ll realize how wrong you are.  We are pleased to bring you Mark Reiman, a color scientist from Kodak who has over 20 years of experience in digital imaging systems engineering.  Not only is he a scientist, but he’s also a photographer and speaks to photographers all over the world about color management.  Mark’s down-to-earth speaking style will allow you to understand profiling and color management of your SLR, inkjet printer and images that you send to your lab better than you ever have before.

And you’ll never end up with photographs of blue bananas or green Santa Claus suits again.   That is, unless you want to.

Date:  Wednesday, April 13, 2011
Time:  7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Location:  Booksmart Studio, 250 N. Goodman Street, Rochester, NY

The socializing and print crtitique begins at 6:00 pm, and the business portion of the GRPP meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.  Mark’s presentation will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.
