May Meeting – Tomas Flint

Greater Rochester Professional Photographer’s May Meeting Agenda:

Location is Booksmart Studio, May 12, 2010 from 6-9 PM.

We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to listen and be inspired by Tomas Flint for this meeting. He was recently named one of the top 3 Wedding photographers in the world by ISPWP and he’s right here in our home town!

Tomas is like no one else I have ever met ~ extremely compassionate, down to earth, and real. He will be speaking about “discovery, love, risk, connection, personal evolution…all of the things that make us individuals and our work a direct reflection of that”. It would not be about a fancy action pack or work flow shortcut, but about growth and expression, evolution and acceptance. You will need to clear your minds of hoping to hear about any short cuts, or golden tickets. Just be ready to be truly inspired.

Networking & Print Critique is from 6-7
* bring a food or beverage to share if you would like to
* bring up to 3 professionally printed 8x10s for critique

GRPP meeting begins at 7

Meeting is open to current paid members. Non-members are charged $10 at the door or may join GRPP.

* Reminder * we will be drawing two “Sam DeNoto” $100 scholarships to the PPSNYS Summer Workshop at this meeting and you must be present to win!

About Tomas Flint:

“The inspiration for my work comes from an awareness of the connection that binds us all.  We are all flowers in a magnificent garden – each contributing a unique energy that makes the whole so much more than the sum of its parts.

As a photographer, I strive to channel the energy of my subject into my lens, through my heart, and back out again.  My goal is to be honest with what I am experiencing.  To dismiss any preconcieved notions and approach each event – each frame – with the curiosity of a child.  In doing this, I am successful in celebrating life in all of it’s glory.  I am paying tribute to the greatest gift of all.

Weddings provide me with a canvas to paint your masterpiece.  Eager anticipation.  True love.  The meshing of yesterday and today, and the promise of tomorrow.  These are the brilliant flashes of life that continually remind me of how lucky I am to be emersed in such unfiltered human emotion.  It brings me great satisfaction to work with real people on real days creating imagery and forming bonds that will last a lifetime.

This is why I do what I do.  …and why I plan to continue doing so for a long time.”
